Three findings that change how you should call
1. Cost is the first question — so ask it first. A third of callers lead with pricing. Providers expect it; our Florida cost guide covers the published 2026 ranges so you can sanity-check any quote.
2. Combined infestations are normal, not rare. One in seven callers reports roaches and spiders together — spiders follow the insects they eat. Naming every pest you have seen gets you a plan that treats the food chain, not one symptom. See the spider guide and roach guide.
3. A quarter of callers can't name the pest — and that's fine. "I need pest control" with a good description of what you saw, where, and when is enough for a provider to identify the species on inspection.

Source data: 252 pest-control phone inquiries handled across our inbound consumer-inquiry network in 2026, of which 178 included a recorded caller question suitable for topic analysis. Questions were classified by keyword into overlapping topics (a single inquiry can mention cost and a species). The median inquiry lasted just over a minute. Privacy: this analysis is aggregate only — caller identities, phone numbers, audio recordings, and full transcripts are never published or shared.
